CANNOT WAIT TO SEE WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO CJ
This review is from: White Limousine (EKKO) (Kindle Edition)
What a great story! I could not put the book down. From one page to another, I just wanted to know what would happen next! I got so attached to the characters. It is an easy read with interesting references to all types of music. Johnny writes with almost a music tone. The way he describes scenes and involved you into CJ's adventures keeps you on your toes at all times. Cannot wait to read more about CJ's life......

In the world of sci-fi there are two things: Genius and crap.
EKKO is the former, and so much more. Instead of been there done that interplanetary wars, monsters and aliens, we get the most original idea to come along in eons. Johnny Walker has come up with a premise so original, it challenges all you have ever understood about music, dimension and physics. A world that exists within our own yet hidden from all of us. That is until we meet C.J. The man who discovers it all. EKKO is so methodically mapped out in terms of characters, plot and scene. I went back for a second read to see what nuances I might have overlooked, and man are there nuances! We also get the first new original technology in perhaps ever! The Hayson is one of those things that will eventually become a part of our vernacular, like Death Star or the transporter. Finally a maverick has come to blow the dust off of what sci-fi has become over the last two decades, cliché and boring. There is not one borrowed idea, not one similar character, Nor one familiar theme. This is original from the ground up. Mr. Walker seems to have channeled something from the next dimension and will have you bringing a flashlight to bed to make sure you are alone.
Powerfully original and breathtakingly fascinating!

Great start to a series!, December 27, 2011
This review is from: White Limousine (EKKO) (Kindle Edition)
In White Limousine (EKKO), we are introduced to CJ, a man whose passion is running lights and sounds for concerts and he has set his mind to it that nothing will stop him from following his dream. He is taking it so far that he is actually using spirits, ghosts, phantoms, etc in his stage-shows. Of course, how do you tell someone what is really going on without sounding completely mental? Well, word starts to get out about his shows and with all the extra attention and press coverage, how do you keep something like that a secret forever? The book was a great read! I loved following CJ and even though I'm not much of a believer in the paranormal, I found the book to be very entertaining and there were even parts that gave me chills with the suspense. Even though the author dove into the paranormal quite a bit, the book seemed very real and the story was believable throughout. I am actually very much looking forward to reading the rest of the series!!!

Johnny Walker has written a fun novel in an episodic style similar to that of Patricia Highsmith. The narrative is linear following the adventures of roguish protagonist CJ and his encounters with the supernatural. The story has the cliffhanger feeling of an old television serial with a modern approach to the subject matter. This is a great start to a series which should prove to be very entertaining. An accessible novel for readers who enjoy Orson Scott Card, Anne Rice and Christopher Moore. This novel is perfect for people who enjoy reading for fun.

New Book Review
Johnny Walker's new book EKKO, is a journey into the spiritual world using a mysterious device that CJ really doesn't understand but has, by trial and error, learned to use. These excursions are not without danger, or suspense, as CJ discovers. The spirits CJ meets are interesting characters to say the least, but the most intriguing is the hauntingly beautiful Clarise. EKKO is a departure from the usual as far as Sci-Fi goes, and Walker's mixing of two worlds, the now and the past, is flawlessly done.
Great reading. Sci-fi fans will love EKKO.
